The National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) in Bethesda MD is a DoD institute focused on cutting-edge evaluation, treatment planning, research and education for mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and psychological health (PH) conditions.
In 2010 NICo explored the idea of having a virtual version of their facility for patients to continue their therapies after returning to their jobs. We built the full facility for them and included training materials developed by the NICoE Staff. There was even a live “Puppy cam” feed to the place that companion dogs were raised. We also included AI agents to help visitors navigate their way around the virtual NICoE. Sadly, the program was cut due to economic issues of the time.
